Learning
“Encourage one another and build each other up” (1 Thessalonians 5:11).
We are committed to providing a broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum that enables every child to flourish—academically, socially and spiritually. Our curriculum reflects our values of community, compassion, respect, wisdom, thankfulness and endurance, ensuring that learning is meaningful and purposeful.
A curriculum for every child
We recognise that children join us with different starting points and experiences. Our curriculum is designed to meet the needs of all learners, removing barriers and supporting every child to succeed.
Through strong relationships and a deep understanding of our community, we ensure that every child is known, supported and able to achieve their full potential.
Knowledge, skills and understanding
Our curriculum is built on the National Curriculum and Early Years Foundation Stage framework, ensuring children develop secure knowledge and key skills across a wide range of subjects.
Learning is carefully sequenced so that children build on what they already know, make meaningful connections and deepen their understanding over time. We place high importance on language, reading and communication as the foundation for success.
Enrichment and wider opportunities
We believe that learning goes beyond the classroom. Enrichment is a key part of our curriculum, giving children access to a wide range of experiences that broaden their understanding of the world.
Through visits, visitors, outdoor learning, music, sport and wider opportunities, children develop confidence, curiosity and a sense of aspiration. We work hard to ensure that all pupils can access these experiences, recognising the importance of providing opportunities that may not otherwise be available to them.
These experiences help children to discover new interests, develop talents and build the cultural knowledge and life skills they need for the future.
Preparing children for the future
Our aim is to equip children not only with knowledge, but with the skills, attitudes and values they need for life beyond school. Through our curriculum, pupils develop resilience, independence and a strong sense of responsibility to others.
They are encouraged to think carefully, act with kindness and make a positive contribution to both their local community and the wider world.
