Our choir loved taking part in the Junior Music Festival, hosted by the Berkshire Young Musicians Trust at The Hexagon in Reading.

Following two area rehearsals, which were proudly hosted here at Thatcham Park, the children were well prepared for their final rehearsal ahead of the big performance. They joined several other schools from across the county, creating a truly special shared musical experience.

The theme of this year’s performance was Making Waves, exploring the beauty of the ocean and encouraging reflection on how humans care for the creatures that live there. The children sang with great enthusiasm and understanding of this important message.

It was an amazing experience to perform alongside hundreds of other children, accompanied by a live band and led by a talented conductor. The atmosphere was electric, and the children rose brilliantly to the occasion.

We also enjoyed the journey as much as the performance itself, with a fun bus trip and a celebratory meal at Bella Italia adding to a memorable day.

A huge well done to all of our choir members—it was a fantastic experience and one we will remember for a long time.
