Our Community at Thatcham Park
At Thatcham Park, community is at the heart of who we are. Inspired by our vision, “Encourage one another and build each other up” (1 Thessalonians 5:11), we work together as a supportive and caring school family.
“The school is a caring, nurturing community where love and kindness are woven into every aspect of school life.”
— SIAMS Inspection Report
We believe that strong relationships help everyone to flourish. Children, staff, parents and the wider community are all valued as individuals and encouraged to show respect, kindness and understanding.
Through our daily interactions and shared experiences, we create a welcoming environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging and is supported to grow.
We know that some families face challenges, and we are committed to offering the support they need—whether that is practical help, emotional care or simply being there to listen. At the same time, we make space to celebrate successes and find joy in everyday moments together.
In our school, everyone is included and valued. We welcome those who may have felt excluded elsewhere, and our children and staff take pride in looking out for one another, especially those with additional needs, so that everyone feels safe, supported and part of our community.
“We are like a big family. We always look after each other.”

Our wider community
Our community extends beyond the school gates. We work closely with our local church, valuing its role in shaping our Christian vision and supporting collective worship, reflection and celebration.
We are also connected to the wider local community, including families, governors, PTFA, partner organisations and local services. These relationships enrich our school and help children understand their place within a wider world.
Together, we build a community where everyone is encouraged, valued and supported to make a positive difference.
