Our Learning
Our curriculum provides pupils with opportunities to:
-engage in a range of enrichment activities which supplement and support our planned curriculum coverage
-access learning opportunities which balance learning knowledge and skills in a structured and cohesive way
-be creative and curious: using their imaginations to problem solve whilst leading and managing their own learning
-nurture high aspirations through their personal understanding of metacognitive processes and their view of themselves as active learners
Our Curriculum Intent
At Thatcham Park, our Christian values guide everything we do. We nurture each child to grow and achieve their God-given potential, helping them to feel confident in expressing themselves and their needs.
Reading is at the heart of our learning, as we know it is key to success across the curriculum. Children are encouraged to talk about their learning, sharing ideas and building confidence through discussion.
We also offer a wide range of experiences that broaden pupils’ horizons and support them to feel ready, confident and motivated to learn. Developing each child’s spiritual, moral, social and cultural understanding is central to our vision—fostering awe and wonder, and encouraging them to stand up for what is right as courageous advocates.
