British Values
At Thatcham Park C of E Primary School we are proud of our inclusive school community which is built on our Christian values. It’s important to us that we promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. We do this by providing an inclusive learning environment where pupils enjoy learning, feel safe and make positive contributions to school, their families and community.
Part of the way in which we actively promote British Values is through our curriculum provision; the use of Picture News resources across the school and worship.
Living our Vision through British Values
At Thatcham Park, our vision, "Therefore encourage one another and build each other up" (1 Thessalonians 5:11), is reflected in the way pupils learn to value others, participate in democratic processes, act responsibly, celebrate diversity and develop the confidence to make positive contributions to their communities. Through British Values, pupils learn not only how to live well alongside others, but also how to actively build up those around them and contribute to a flourishing society.
