Year 2 Home Learning

Week 7

Tutankhamun was an ancient Egyptian pharaoh (which is like a king).  Tutankhamun's tomb was full of glittering, hidden treasures.

Find out:

  • Who was Tutankhamun?
  • What sorts of things were in his tomb?
  • Why did he want the things there?

Maybe you could present your research in a fact file, as a comic strip or create a piece of artwork.

They could be:

  • Tidy your room
  • Tell your adult that they are a fab teacher!
  • Give someone a hug
  • Make someone in your family a drink
  • Say kind words to someone.

Capacity - Maths

Capacity is how much something can hold.

Can you fill different shapes and sizes of containers with water to see:

  • How much they can hold?
  • Can a cup hold more or less than a jug?
  • Which of the containers has the highest/ lowest amount of capacity?

See the worksheet for work on millilitres.

You’ve found an ancient scroll buried in the woods.

Can you draw what it looks like?

  • What does it say?
  • Who is it from?
  • What time-period is it from?

Mindfulness

Take some time to relax and think.

-You might choose to sit and practise some breathing techniques or yoga (there are lots of videos on YouTube).
