Encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.’ 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Music
Music Intent
As musicians, pupils will develop and demonstrate a firm understanding of what music is through listening, singing, playing, evaluating, analysing, and composing across a wide variety of historical periods, styles, traditions, and musical genres.
We aim to inspire children to enjoy music in as many ways as they choose- either as listener, creator or performer. We enable them to dissect music and comprehend its parts, whilst understanding its significance as a universal language. We encourage all stakeholders to further develop skills less known to them in order to be able to access and enjoy a rich musical curriculum.
Music units and enrichment activities provide pupils with opportunities to:
- Perform, listen to, review and evaluate music
- Understand and explore how music is created, produced and communicated
- Play a range of musical instruments
- Listen to high quality live musical performances
- Engage in regular performance opportunities across the school year in a range of venues, both local and further afield
