Geography statement of intent
As geographers pupils will demonstrate a knowledge and awareness of the physical and social geography of the local and wider world and their place within it. Awareness of our changing world and our impact upon it as responsible global citizens.
Develop both physical and technological maps skills to participate in Geographical enquiry through: asking their own questions making comparisons and links and considering the reason behind those links.
A geography unit contains opportunities to
- discover through practical resources
- enrich the curriculum through trips/visitors and artefacts
- ask questions and be able to find their own answers
- apply what has been learnt to other contexts.
