School Uniform

Rationale

We believe uniform is not only practical but also gives the children a sense of pride, identity and belonging to our school. Our colours are jade green, grey and white and our uniform is as flexible as possible.

Lost clothing is costly and also impacts on the school day as time is wasted matching clothing to its owner! Therefore, please ensure that all items are clearly marked.

For safety reasons, and for security, no jewellery is to be worn – only watches and stud earrings if absolutely necessary. Due to health and safey and insurance reasons, all jewellery and watches must be removed for P.E. lessons, tape/plaster coveriing is not permitted. (Pupils need to be able to independently remove all jewellery and watches and are responsible for storing them; if this is not possible, pupils should not wear them to school on P.E. days).

Make-up including nail varnish is not allowed, nor hair wraps, or unnatural hair colours. Hair that touches the shoulders or longer needs to be tied up for school.

Judgements about hair do not discriminate against any pupil by virtue of their protected characteristics.
