The school day

EST_6677
  • Children should arrive at school no earlier than 10 minutes before the agreed start of the school day as staff are not able to be responsible for them before this time.
  • Gates will be locked at 08.45, any late arrivals will need to be accompanied by parent/carer directly to the school office where documentation will need to be completed giving specific reasons for lateness. Late arrival will be recorded as ‘late’ in the register. Late after 09.00 (ie after registration has closed) will be recorded as an absence.
  • The children attend 190 school days each year. Parents receive a copy of their child’s daily attendance over the course of the year in the annual report.
  •  We ask that parents avoid taking children out of school for family holidays whenever possible. Absence in September and October can be particularly disruptive for the children.
  • Parents of children in Year 6 are reminded that their children take SATs (Standard Assessment tests) during May. These are national tests that children undertake at the end of each Key Stage.
