‘Encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.’ 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Collective Worship

Collective worship is central to life at our school.

It brings us together as a community and helps us live out our vision to encourage one another and grow together.

Through worship, we explore our values and support children in developing their understanding of themselves, others and the world.

🌿 Our Approach to Worship

Our worship is inclusive, invitational and inspiring.

We warmly welcome children and families of all faiths and none. Everyone is encouraged to take part in a way that feels comfortable to them—whether that is through listening, reflecting or joining in.

Worship provides a calm and meaningful space in the school day, helping children to pause, think and grow.

🌱 Growing Spiritually

Worship gives children time to reflect on life’s bigger questions and explore what matters most.

Through stories, music and quiet moments, children develop a sense of awe and wonder. They begin to think about meaning and purpose, while growing in their own personal and spiritual journey.

💛 Living Our Values

Our values are woven through all aspects of worship.

Children explore ideas about kindness, respect and making good choices. Over time, they begin to apply this understanding in their everyday lives.

We often see children drawing on these values in their behaviour, showing care for others and making thoughtful decisions—even if they cannot always explain where this understanding comes from.

🤝 A Consistent Example

Adults across the school model the values we share.

Through their words and actions, staff demonstrate respect, patience and encouragement. This creates a strong, consistent environment where children feel supported and understand what positive relationships look like.

👣 Pupil Voice and Leadership

Children are encouraged to take an active role in worship as they grow.

They contribute ideas, share reflections and begin to develop confidence in leading aspects of worship, especially within their classes.

This helps children feel a real sense of ownership and belonging.

🙏 Prayer and Reflection

Prayer is part of daily school life and is approached in an inclusive and thoughtful way.

Children are encouraged to explore prayer in age-appropriate ways. They may write their own prayers, take part in quiet reflection or experience different styles of prayer.

This allows each child to engage in a way that is meaningful to them and supports their own spiritual development.

🌍 The Impact on Our Children

Collective worship plays an important role in shaping the culture of our school.

It helps children to grow in confidence, develop strong values and understand how their actions affect others. Children learn to show care and respect, and begin to see how they can make a positive difference.

In this way, worship supports every child to flourish as part of a caring, thoughtful and inclusive community.
