🌿 Our Vision and Values
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up.”
Our vision is simple and powerful.
We encourage one another so that everyone can grow, learn and flourish.
As a Church of England school, our vision is rooted in Christian faith. It is inspired by the example of Barnabas and the early Christians, who were known for encouraging others and building strong, supportive communities.
This vision shapes everything we do. It guides how we learn, how we treat one another and how we support every member of our school family.
🌿 Our Vision in Action
Our Christian vision is lived out in daily school life.
We work together to create a community where every child and every adult can flourish—academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. We want everyone to feel valued, supported and able to achieve their best.
🌱 Flourishing Together
We believe every child is unique and important.
Inspired by the Christian belief that all people are made in the image of God, we create an environment where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. Children are supported to grow in confidence, feel safe in who they are and develop a strong sense of belonging.
This helps our children feel secure, happy and ready to learn.
📚 Learning with Purpose
Our vision encourages a love of learning and a spirit of enquiry.
Children are given opportunities to explore, question and think deeply. We support them to make good progress and to develop wisdom in the choices they make, both in their learning and in their daily lives.
Over time, children begin to discover their strengths, develop their interests and take pride in what they can achieve.
💛 A Caring Community
Relationships are at the heart of our school.
We work closely with families and support one another through both everyday moments and more challenging times. There is a strong sense of encouragement, kindness and hope across the school.
Children experience what it means to be part of a community where people care for each other and where everyone belongs.
🌍 Growing Character and Responsibility
Our values help children to grow in character.
Through daily experiences, children learn how to show compassion, treat others with respect and keep going when things feel difficult. They begin to understand the importance of fairness and develop the confidence to speak up for what is right.
In this way, they start to see how their actions can make a positive difference to others and to the wider world.
✝️ Reflection and Spiritual Growth
Time for reflection is an important part of school life.
Through collective worship and quiet moments in the day, children are given space to think about deeper questions and reflect on their experiences. They develop a sense of awe and wonder, alongside an understanding of their own beliefs and values.
This supports them in developing their own sense of meaning and purpose.
Our shared values guide how we live this out every day:
- Thankfulness – appreciating what we have and celebrating each other
- Compassion – showing kindness, care and understanding
- Community – working together and supporting one another
- Respect – treating everyone with dignity
- Endurance – keeping going when things are challenging
- Wisdom – making thoughtful and positive choices
These values shape our relationships, our learning and the way we support every member of our school community.
👣 What This Means Day to Day
In practice, this means your child will feel known, valued and supported from the moment they join us. They will be encouraged to enjoy learning, try new things and do their very best.
They will grow in confidence and independence, while learning how to treat others with kindness and respect. Most importantly, they will be part of a strong and caring community where they can truly flourish.
