Reading

William Shakespeare reading comprehension – there are three difficulty levels for you to choose from.
- it would also be fab for you to do some extra reading around ‘Shakespeare’ - books or internet
Additional Tasks
Create your own archaeological dig
- either bury something in sand or in plaster of paris
- then use delicate tools to either brush or chip away to find the ‘artefact’
- if people ‘dug up’ your artefacts in 1000 years’ time, what do you think they would learn about you? Perhaps draw a picture of the archaeological dig that would tell the world about you!

Write sentences about Shakespeare and his life that begin with some of the adverbials you found in the last task (ie, making them fronted adverbials!)

Key Question
When we studied the Ancient Egyptians, we found that the reason that we know so much about them now, over 3000 years later, is through the artefacts found in tombs. Is this the same for how we know so much about William Shakespeare?

Grammar
Use the expanded noun phrase mat and create some wonderful phrases. Use the poster to help you if you find it tricky.
Punctuation
Write expanded noun phrases into full sentences. Can you start a sentence with a fronted adverbial followed by a comma.

The Amazon River and create a fact file or your own book. Remember to use subheadings for a fact file or a contents page for a mini book.

Write a story or a description. You can either watch the fun video clip linked to water. Or, you can produce a piece of written work based on the picture of a girl in a bath tub below . Remember you can change the main character in your story. Try to think about all the questions asked on the worksheet as it will improve your piece of written work.
